Types of Adaptavate BreathAplasta Plaster

Looking for an environmentally friendly alternative for your project? BreathAplasta has you covered.

BreathAplasta Smooth

The BreathAplasta Smooth plaster is your go-to for achieving a polished finish on internal surfaces. The fine finishing plaster delivers a smooth or finely polished surface that’s perfect for internal walls or ceilings. It’s so easy to use, with a fast setting time that lets you complete your job in as little as 3 hours from start to finish.

We recommend it for use as a top coat for lime plaster systems or for skimming over old lime plaster walls and ceilings. For plasterboard, it provides an easy two-coat skin finish.

Key Features

  • Sets in under 60 minutes
  • Smooth surface with fine-grained 2-3mm application
  • Water vapour permeable
  • Works well on various backgrounds, trowel to a smooth finish or sponge float

BreathAplasta Thermal

BreathAplasta Thermal is designed for thermal insulation, making it the perfect solution for solid wall properties. It’s a versatile, multi-coat plaster that reduces heating demand and increases comfort. With a quick setting time per coat, you can apply up to 40mm per pass and achieve up to 80mm per day. This plaster is particularly well suited for older, solid wall properties where it can prevent air gaps that can occur with traditional internal wall insulation.

Key Features

  • Each coat sets in just 2 hours
  • Improves the U-value of solid walls with 100% natural, lightweight insulating plaster
  • Water vapour permeable

BreathAplasta Universal

BreathAplasta Universal is designed for general use across various applications. Whether you’re plastering new surfaces or renovating existing ones, this product offers excellent versatility and performance.

Key Features

  • Good thermal performance to save money on heating
  • Quick setting and easy to use
  • Absorbs pollutants for improved indoor air quality
  • Breathable plaster that removes the risk of mould and condensation

Why Use BreathAplasta on Your Project?

Deliver on both performance and sustainability – here’s why BreathAplasta is a top choice:

  • Better Thermal Performance

The Thermal plaster is designed to boost the thermal insulation of your walls, meaning you’ll save money on heating bills. It also keeps indoor spaces warmer in winter and cooler in summer, leading to more comfortable living conditions and lower energy costs.

  • Rapid Setting Times

With quick setting capabilities, BreathAplasta helps you complete your projects faster. The Smooth plaster, for example, sets in just under 60 minutes, cutting down on labour time.

  • Improved Indoor Air Quality

The Universal plaster not only insulates but also improves indoor air quality. It absorbs pollutants, contributing to a healthier indoor environment. This is especially important in homes and buildings to provide a cleaner and fresher living space.

  • Breathable and Mould Resistant

The range of plasters are breathable which reduces the risk of mould and condensation. This is key to maintain healthy walls and prevent moisture-related issues in older buildings. The water vapour permeability helps in regulating humidity levels, ensuring that your plasterwork stays in top condition for longer.

Application Tips for BreathAplasta Plasters

Have we convinced you? Before you get started on your next project, here are some expert tips about applying your plaster:

  1. Preparation is Key

Ensure that the surface you’re applying your plaster to is clean, dry and free from any loose materials. Remove any old plaster, paint or debris. If you’re applying over a previously plastered surface, ensure it’s well prepared and primed if necessary.

  2. Mixing & Consistency

Avoid over-mixing as this can lead to air bubbles and affect the plaster’s performance.

  3. Application Techniques

Apply BreathAplasta in even layers. For BreathAplasta Smooth, use a trowel to spread the plaster in thin even coats. For BreathAplasta Thermal, apply each coat in layers of 40mm, allowing adequate time for each layer to set before applying the next.

  4. Avoid Overworking

Once the plaster is applied, avoid overworking it. Excessive trowelling or manipulation can disrupt the setting process and affect the final finish.
